Many of these patients have major signs of Stockholm Syndrome and over identify with and may even defend their perpetrator. Many have limited abilities expressing themselves through words. I have a method of explaining the concept of Stockholm Syndrome and then utilizing InnerActive Parts Works cards, to allow the victim to show through symbology, “This is what it felt like, that’s what it did to me.” In addition, to utilizing the visual cards to promote healing and represent what they want their recovery and future to look and feel like.
